Text Box: The following matters were discussed at the August and September 2004 Board of Directors meetings:
The Board approved installation of a pool cover.  Covering the pool in the off-season will substantially reduce the frequency of the need to whitecoat the pool, and will reduce the annual costs associated with draining and acid washing the pool.
The Board voted to file a complaint with the Montgomery County Commission on Common Ownership against two HVCA owners who, after being Text Box: afforded a covenant violation hearing, still have not complied with HVCA’s decision regarding their violations.
HVCA bid out its 2005 Grounds Maintenance and 2004/05 Snow Clearing contracts.  HVCA selected the incumbent snow clearing contractor, McDonnell Landscaping, for 2004/05 snow services.  The board is still reviewing proposals for the 2005 Grounds Maintenance contract.
The HVCA Board discussed how to enforce the use of rigid containers for trash and Text Box: garbage disposal.
HVCA is negotiating to reduce its 2004 concrete replacement expense to compensate for substandard services from Commercial Concrete.
The Community Room was painted and the closets partially lined with Plexiglas to protect the walls from chair storage damage.
HVCA approved the 2003 Audit performed for HVCA by by Geoffrey Brundage, CPA.

It also provides a unique insight into the operation of your Community Association.  If you are able and willing to serve your community in this manner, please send a short letter of interest (including your name, address, pertinent background information and a brief statement about why you want to serve on the HVCA Board of Directors) to:

Text Box: Each year at its Annual Meeting HVCA elects one or two new directors to replace those directors whose terms are expiring.  This year we have two directors’ terms expiring and, therefore, two positions on the board to fill.  The positions are for a three-year term.  While we may be fortunate enough to have incumbents run for another term on the board, they may choose not to do so.  For this reason, each year at this time, we put out a “Call for Nominations” for the Board of Directors.
